"The Dress"

The doorbell rang… it was the mail man. My little girl rushed to the door and saw the mail man standing there with a package in his hand. Patiently she stood nearby and waited for me to collect the package. “Is that for me, Mommy?”, she asked with eyes full of excitement and anticipation as I walked towards her. I smiled and handed the package to her, “Go ahead, open it”. She grabbed it from my hands, ripped through the wrapper and pulled out a gorgeous princess-like dress from the box… “Wow…it’s really pretty Mommy! Can I try it on?” “Go right ahead!” I replied and watched her with amusement. She put on the dress… it fitted her perfectly. As she twirled and skipped around me, she said “Oh wow, I look like a princess!” Still very amused, I smiled and replied, “yes my dear, you really do!”.
